Wunderreich Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) – Advanced Mechanics and Tools
Wunderreich Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) adds several interesting and unusual mechanics to Minecraft. A new tool will let you place a random block from your inventory, the Wunderkiste will act as a shared storage for all players in your world, and monsters that are named with a name tag will no longer disappear when you switch the game mode to Peaceful.

Features:
- Influence trades offered by villagers
- Slabs for vanilla blocks like sand, dirt, concrete or glass
- Stairs and Walls for Wool, Concrete and Terracotta
- Connected chests that have access to the same inventory
- ️ A tool that places a random block from the hot bar.
Wunderkiste – Overview / Features
- Shared chest: A Wunderkiste shares a single inventory across all Wunderkisten in the same network (similar to an inter-dimensional ender chest).
- Chunk loading: By default, any chunk containing a Wunderkiste is kept loaded. The chunk-loading radius is configurable (0 disables). This allows cross-dimension item transfer and keeps those chunks ticking.
- Redstone behaviour: Opening one Wunderkiste causes every Wunderkiste in the same network to emit full redstone power (level 15). It also provides an analog redstone output based on how full the inventory is.
- Colored and named networks: Wunderkisten can be assigned to one of 16 colored networks using dye. Naming a Wunderkiste with an anvil creates a named network (1.18.2+). Networks share inventory across players and dimensions.
Wunderkiste – Usage & Commands
- Change network color: Right-click a placed Wunderkiste with Dye to assign or change its color network. Depending on configuration, dye can be consumed.
- Create named networks: Use an anvil to give a Wunderkiste a custom name. All chests with that name share the same inventory.
- Game rules / commands for Wunderkiste:
/wunderkisteAllowNetworks [true|false]– Enable or disable colored networks./wunderkisteAllowNamedNetworks [true|false]– Enable or disable named networks./wunderkisteShowColored [true|false]– Show the color of the assigned network on the block./wunderkisteCanColor [true|false]– Allow players to recolor Wunderkisten using dye./wunderkisteChangeNetworkCost [number]– Set dye cost for changing the network./wunderkisteRedstonePowerWhenOpened [true|false]– Make Wunderkisten emit redstone power when opened./wunderkisteAnalogRedstoneOutput [true|false]– Enable analog redstone output based on inventory fullness./wunderkisteChunkLoaderRadius [0..5]– Set chunk-loading radius around each Wunderkiste (0 disables chunk loading).
Whispers – Overview / Features
- Trade reroll mechanic: Whisperers are items that let players re-roll the first trades of novice (untraded) villagers.
- Librarian targeting: Imprinted Whisperers can influence Librarian villagers to offer trades matching the stored enchantments.
- Imprinting system: An Imprinter workstation is used to imprint an enchantment onto a blank Whisperer, consuming materials and producing an imprinted Whisperer. Imprinting grants a small amount of experience that depends on the rarity of the enchantment and configurable XP multipliers.
- Durability: Whisperers have configurable durability values. Blank and imprinted Whisperers can use different durability settings.
Whispers – Usage & Commands
- Reroll villager trades: Hold a Whisperer in your hand and open the trading GUI of a novice villager. A reroll button appears. Pressing it consumes Whisperer durability and rerolls the trades as if you had broken and replaced the workstation.
- Use the Imprinter: Interact with the Imprinter workstation, select an enchantment from the list, place it in the build area, and take the resulting imprinted Whisperer from the output slot.
- Game rules / commands for Whispers:
/wunderreichAllowTradesCycling [true|false]– Enable or disable trade cycling completely./wunderreichCyclingNeedsWhisperer [true|false]– Require a Whisperer for trade cycling. If false, trades can be cycled without the item./wunderreichAllowLibrarianSelection [true|false]– Allow Librarians to react to imprinted Whisperers and try to offer matching trades./whispersDurability [number]– Base durability for blank Whisperers./whispersTrainedDurability [number]– Base durability for imprinted Whisperers./whispersMinXPMultiplier [number]– Minimum XP multiplier when imprinting./whispersMaxXPMultiplier [number]– Maximum XP multiplier when imprinting.
Configuration (Global / JSON)
- Feature flags: Many features can be toggled through JSON configuration, for example:
features.enableWhispers– Enable or disable the Whispers mechanic.features.addBlankWhisperer– Add the blank Whisperer item to loot tables or progression.features.addImprintedWhispers– Enable generation or availability of imprinted Whisperers.
- Wunderkiste rendering: The option
display.multiTexturedWunderkistecontrols whether colored Wunderkisten use separate textures or a single recolored texture. - Default game rules: Default values for all game rules are defined in a file such as
defaultGameRules.json. This file can be used as a baseline before changing rules in-game with commands.
