Yet Another Thirst Mod adds a working thirst bar to your survival game. It forces you to find and drink clean water to stay alive. The mod places a blue droplet bar right above your food level. Running, jumping, and fighting drain your water faster. If your thirst drops too low, you lose the ability to sprint and heal. Going completely dry causes you to take damage until you find something to drink.

Yet Another Thirst Mod

Features:

  • Thirst Mechanics: Adds a blue droplet bar above your hunger bar that drops when you do physical actions.
  • Dehydration Penalties: Stops you from sprinting or healing when thirsty, and hurts you if the bar empties.
  • Lets you drink water straight from the source block with empty hands by holding Shift and right-clicking.
  • Allows you to look up at the sky during rainstorms to slowly fill your thirst bar.
  • Changes how fast you get thirsty based on the biome you are standing in.
  • Makes you lose water three times faster when exploring the hot Nether dimension.
  • Stops heat dehydration completely if you have the Fire Resistance effect active.
  • Averages out the purity of water when you mix different types inside a cauldron.
  • Lets dispensers fill bottles and buckets while keeping the water’s purity level.

Water Purity Levels:

  • Dirty: Found in swamps and surface pools, gives you nausea and poison.
  • Slightly Dirty: Comes from underground caves and mountain streams, gives less nausea and poison.
  • Acceptable: Natural clean water that only gives a tiny chance of nausea.
  • Purified: Safe water that gives no bad effects when you drink it.

New Containers:

  • Clay Bowls: Made from clay balls so you have a quick way to hold water on your first day.
  • Terracotta Bowls: Created by cooking clay bowls in a furnace or campfire.
  • Wooden Water Bowls: Another simple container you can fill and drink from before you find iron or glass.

How to Use:

  1. Craft a clay bowl using clay balls, then cook it in a furnace to make a terracotta bowl.
  2. Fill your bowl or a glass bottle with water from a nearby source.
  3. Place the filled container on a lit campfire to clean the water up one purity level.
  4. Put the container in a furnace to clean the water up two purity levels and make it safer to drink.
  5. Hold Shift and right-click on a water block with empty hands if you need a quick drink without a container.
