Bats Galore Mod (1.20.1) (previously known as Spooky Bats Mod) is a Halloween-themed mod that adds various new bat types to the game.

Features:

  • The mod introduces a range of new bat types, each with its own unique “spooky” appearance and behavior. Most of them spawn naturally in the Overworld (especially in a new biome) and some in the Nether. When killed, each bat drops a specific type of candy that can be eaten, though not all are beneficial—some cause negative effects (such as poisoning or debuffs).
  • New Biome: Spooky Oak: A new orangish biome in the Overworld featuring the common Spooky Oak tree. This biome is the primary spawning ground for most bat types. Additionally, the mod adds a full Spooky Oak wood set, allowing the crafting of most wooden items from this wood (such as planks, logs, stairs, slabs, etc.).
  • Void Bat: A special bat that does not spawn naturally. When a player right-clicks it, they will be teleported to The End, similar to touching an ender portal. This is a convenient feature for quickly accessing the end dimension, but it requires manual spawning (possibly via command or a special item).
  • Structure: Altar of Turmoil: In the Spooky Oak biome, there is a chance to find this structure. It consists of four pedestals arranged around it. Four special bat types in the mod drop four different cores. Placing the correct core on each pedestal triggers a secret event (which could summon a boss, provide a reward, or unleash a mysterious spooky effect).
  • Cape and Broom: Adds Halloween accessories like a cape and broom, which can be used for decoration or as functional items.
  • Candy Effects: Candy dropped by bats can provide buffs (such as speed or strength) or debuffs (such as slowness or temporary blindness), so be cautious.
