Forgotten Graves Mod (1.20.4, 1.19.4) – Stores Items in A Decaying Grave Upon Death
Forgotten Graves Mod (1.20.4, 1.19.4) is a highly configurable fabric mod that adds a grave which stores items and XP upon death; the grave will then begin to decay at random intervals between 4 different stages.
Features:
Generation & Retrieval:
- Upon dying, a grave is generated at the death location containing your inventory and experience, including compatible mod inventories.
- Upon retrieval, items may be auto-equipped or dropped based on the retrieval type.
- Some mod inventories do not auto-equip; check compatibility for details.
- Safe to add/remove compatible mods; mod items merge into vanilla inventory or drop if no space.
- INVENTORY retrieval type: Restores inventory to its state at grave generation, adding current items to vanilla inventory or dropping them if no space.
- Graves outside world boundaries are placed within (e.g., below -64 in Overworld generates at -57, above 320 generates at 318).
- Graves sink to the first solid block below in Air or Water by default, but float in Lava. Configurable via Floating options.
Crafting:
- Graves can be crafted, allowing naming, custom heads, and picking up after breaking (unlike generated graves).
Grave Access:
- By default, only the owner and operators can access graves, configurable via OP Override Level and Grave Robbing options.
Decay:
- Graves decay randomly over time in four stages.
- Add Decay: Right-click with a vine or mushroom to add one decay stage to a crafted grave.
- Remove Decay: Right-click with a shovel to remove one decay stage, dealing 1 damage to the shovel (affected by unbreaking and creative mode).
- Prevent Decay: Right-click with Honeycomb to stop decay; remove effect with a shovel or by breaking a crafted grave.
- Item Decay: Items do not decay by default; enable via Item Decay Modifier (higher values increase decay speed) and Decay Breaks Items config options.
Grave Backups:
- Stored on the server, accessible even after claiming, allowing admins to manage graves (find, restore, delete) and players to view their graves’ coordinates.
- Acts as a fail-safe for issues during grave placement or retrieval.
Custom Heads:
- Crafted graves can have mob heads or custom player skulls added by right-clicking with the head.
Naming:
- Crafted graves can be named in an anvil for one experience level, displayed on the headstone.
Water-logging:
- Graves can be waterlogged by right-clicking with a water bucket or placing in a water source, functioning like vanilla mechanics.
Explosion:
- Graves cannot be destroyed by explosions (no config option currently available).
