Ladders have always been a widely used method for vertical transport in Minecraft. But despite this, it is very much true that ladders are slow and not very aesthetic in design. There are plenty of water based and redstone based elevators that will allow for faster vertical movement in game. This makes ladders very inefficient. But not anymore! Iron Ladders Mod (1.20.4, 1.19.4) introduces different ladder variations into the game. There are copper, iron, gold, diamond and netherite ladders available. The higher the tier of the ladder, the faster the player can climb it. Since the ladders introduced by this mod come in different textures that are based on their crafting material, they can be used in different builds without looking out of place. The copper ladders can oxidize over time to get converted into their weathered variant. Furthermore, there are many upgrades that can be given to ladders.
