Minecraft 1.21.11 Snapshot 25w43a completely overhauls the combat mechanics for the Lance weapon and the Lunge enchantment, making melee combat more engaging while balancing power and survival. In addition, Nautile and Zombie Nautile can no longer be placed in boats to prevent glitches.

  • Loot Function: minecraft:discard – replaces any item stack with an empty one.

Changes

  • Spear:
    • Spears now deal more damage with charged attacks by both players and mobs.
    • The spear model is now slightly larger.
    • Spears provide visual feedback when hitting a target during a charged attack.
  • Lunge Enchantment:
    • Using Lunge no longer damages the spear’s durability.
    • Now consumes hunger points instead, similar to sprinting or jumping.
    • Level I consumes 3 points, Level II consumes 4, and Level III consumes 5.
    • Requires at least 6 hunger points to activate.
  • Mobs:
    • Nautilus and Zombie Nautilus can no longer enter boats.
    • Zombie Nautilus no longer suffocates outside water.
  • World Border:
    • Now depends on game ticks instead of real time.
    • Stops moving when the game is paused.
    • Respects any changes made by the /tick command.
  • Command Update: /worldborder time argument now uses ticks instead of seconds.
  • Data Pack: version updated to 91.0.
  • Resource Pack: version updated to 71.0.
  • New Sound: Added item.underwater_saddle.equip for Nautilus.
  • Entity Tags: Added nautilus and zombie_nautilus to #cannot_be_pushed_onto_boats.
  • Textures:
    • New field mipmap_strategy replaces darkened_cutout_mipmap in *.mcmeta files.
    • Supported strategies:
      • mean – averages color and alpha values.
      • dark_cutout – darkens edges near transparent pixels.
      • cutout – generates mipmaps directly from the original texture.
      • strict_cutout – stricter alpha cutoff, removes textures at higher levels.
      • auto – automatically chooses the best option.
    • All mipmap levels are now animated for block textures.
    • Beacon and redstone dust now support translucent textures.

  • World border no longer moves when the game is paused.
  • Improved transparency for glass viewed from a distance.
  • Resolved spear damage and animation issues.
  • Fixed rendering problems with banners, item frames, and dropped items.
