ModJS Mod (26.3, 1.20.1) – Script Your Own Items, Recipes and Dimensions
ModJS Mod lets you script Minecraft in JavaScript. Drop .js files in a modjs/ folder and the game runs them. You can add items, blocks, recipes and whole dimensions, react to gameplay and rebuild the main menu. There is no Java and no build step. If you know KubeJS, you already know the layout.

Features:
- Items, blocks and fluids: Register your own, with tools, armor, slabs, stairs, walls, fences and storage blocks. Models, language entries and block loot are made for you.
- Recipes, tags and loot: Write shaped, shapeless, smelting, stonecutting and smithing recipes. You can also remove or replace recipes with filters, and edit or add loot tables.
- World generation: Add ore veins and features, remove them, and change which mobs spawn where.
- Gameplay events: React to a block broken, a player joining, a chat message, an item used, an mob hurt and more. You can cancel an action or rewrite it.
- Dimensions: Add, edit, duplicate and drop dimensions. You can even create them while the server runs and give every new player their own.
- Unify: Picks one main item for each material, so tin from three different mods becomes one tin ingot that stacks. It works like the old Ore Dictionary.
- Lets you read and edit chests, furnaces and signs, change game rules and save values between restarts.
- Changes the client side too. You can rename things, add tooltips, change the splash text, rebuild the title screen and make your own screens with buttons and text boxes.
- Controls Just Enough Items (1.21.1 and 1.20.1) and Barely Enough Items (Forge 26.1.2) from scripts. Hide items, add information pages and hide categories.
- Writes a type file on each launch, so editors like VS Code can complete every name for you.
Script Folders:
startup_scripts: run once while the game loads and register new content.server_scripts: run when a world loads and can be reloaded in game.client_scripts: run on the client and can be reloaded in game.
What Unify Does:
- Makes items for materials like ingots, nuggets, dusts, plates, gears, rods, wires, coins, raw items, storage blocks and ores.
- Recolors art from the game’s own textures and reads colors from the mods you already have.
- Rewrites recipe inputs and outputs, loot from blocks, mobs, chests and fishing, and items already in player inventories.
- Can force new chunks to place the main ore.
- Works from a config file with no script at all.
Commands:
/modjs reload: reloads your server scripts./modjs hand: prints the id of the item you hold./modjs errors: lists script errors./modjs trace on: prints every event as it fires.
