ProxLib Mod (26.1.2, 1.20.1) – Talk to Nearby Players on Any Server
ProxLib Mod lets nearby players share data with each other through the server. The server needs no mods or plugins to pass it along. This mod hides the data inside block-breaking action packets that the server already sends to players close by. Other mods use it to build features like proximity chat.

Features:
- No Server Setup: Lets players send data to each other without any mod or plugin on the server.
- Close Range: Works between players who are within about 26 blocks of each other.
- Works on Air: Sends data even when you are not aiming at a real block.
- Simple API: Gives other mods an easy way to send and receive data packets between nearby players.
- Works on almost all servers, including ones with anti-cheat.
- Works even when the sending player is in creative mode.
- Powers ProxChat, which lets you chat with players around you.
- Does not need Fabric API.
Good to Know:
- Anti-cheat may see the data as packet spam or a nuker, so a player can get flagged for cheating.
- Make sure players know about this risk before they turn on any sending feature.
- Sending data while moving can cause a lagback on some servers, but the data still goes through.
- It stops working when you are less than about 6 blocks from the top or bottom build limit.
- It may also stop working next to the world border.
How Data Is Sent:
- Each Minecraft packet carries 9 bits of data.
- Every message also adds a few extra packets at the start so other players can tell it is a Prox packet.
- Packets use a 10-bit Vendor ID and a 6-bit Packet ID, so each mod can pick its own set of IDs.
