Simple Butchery Mod tries to implement a small level of realism related to animal meat, trying to be as faithful as possible to the Minecraft style. Animals now drop a carcass which can be skinned with a knife (or plucked with a barehand for chickens) The skinned carcass can be right clicked with a cleaver to get access to its meat. Eventually you will be left with a pile of bones which you will need an axe to break giving you bones. This does mean access to a lot of meat will now require you to get iron to make the knife and cleaver. Both of which can be serviceable early weapons.
