Observant Villagers Mod introduces a live reputation system where village communities react directly to your behavior. Every choice matters, from defending towns against raids to taking items from local chests without permission. Your standing changes how villagers treat you, raising or lowering trade prices and deciding whether iron golems defend or hunt you down.

Features:

• Shows a clear reputation tracker at the top of your screen whenever you enter an area with four or more villagers.
• Adds five distinct reputation tiers that dictate how locals react to your presence.
• Villagers notice crimes like breaking workstations, opening chests, or siphoning items with hoppers.
• Witnesses refuse to trade with you for a full day after catching you in the act.
• Introduces the Village Leader, a peacekeeping mob that seeks you out when your reputation drops.
• Gives you ways to clear your name by completing redemption trades with the local leader.
• Allows stealth gameplay where wearing a carved pumpkin or drinking invisibility potions hides your identity.
• Lets you bribe lone witnesses with emeralds before they alert the rest of the town.
• Iron golems turn aggressive on sight if your reputation falls into the exiled rank.

Reputation Tiers:

• Welcomed (+10 or more): Villagers trust you around their workstations and lower their trade prices.
• Neutral (Default): Villagers behave according to normal vanilla rules.
• Weary (-4 or less): Merchants show anger and raise their trade costs.
• Distrusting (-8 or less): Multiple villagers run away and completely refuse to interact.
• Exiled (-14 down to -20): Villagers flee in terror while iron golems attack you on sight.

Reputation Changes:

• Defending a village from a raid rewards +5 reputation points.
• Maxing out trade levels with a villager grants +2 points.
• Building an iron golem gives +1 point.
• Opening or breaking containers deducts -2 points.
• Breaking farm crops or sleeping in an occupied bed costs -1 point.
• Attacking or killing villagers and golems causes severe reputation drops of -8 or more points.

How to Use:

1. Enter any village with four or more residents to see your active reputation meter fade onto the screen.
2. Defend the town from threats or trade fairly to build up good will with the locals.
3. Avoid looting barrels, chests, and workstations while villagers are watching.
4. Talk with the Village Leader to complete redemption trades if your standing dips into negative numbers.
5. Equip a carved pumpkin before stealing if you want to avoid losing reputation points without getting spotted.
