In vanilla Minecraft, the game regularly scans all resource pack sources to refresh the resource pack list. While this is usually harmless, the scan is performed very frequently in the Resource Pack Organizer screen, which can cause serious performance issues when many resource packs or certain mods are used. Async Pack Scan Mod (1.21.11, 1.20.1) improves the situation by running the resource pack scan in the background instead of blocking the game, resulting in a much smoother user experience.
