Fabric Tailor Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) is a mod that lets you change your skin with a single press of the “K” button. It supports loading skins by player name/URL or from local storage.

The mod also adds the console command /skin.

  • Change your skin instantly using the /skin command or a keybind (default: K).
  • Fetch skins by player name, URL, or upload from local storage.
  • Automatically fetches capes if available, or lets you upload custom ones.
  • Supports high-resolution textures for players with the mod installed.

  • Visibility Scenarios:
    • Server only: Vanilla skins & capes; all players can change skins
    • Server + some clients: Modded players see HD skins & capes; others see vanilla
    • Server + all clients: Everyone sees HD skins & capes
