Happy Ghast Backport Mod (1.21.4, 1.20.1) brings Happy Ghast to older versions of the game.

Features:

  • Dried Ghast: A block rarely found near Nether fossils in Soul Sand Valley or crafted from 5 Bone Blocks and 4 Ghast Tears. Place it in water to rehydrate (takes about 20-30 minutes in real time), transforming through stages (from dry to more cheerful) and spawning a Ghastling (baby form).
  • Ghastling: The baby form of Happy Ghast, which can follow nearby players. Feed it snowballs to speed up growth (each snowball reduces maturation time by about 10%). Cannot be ridden until fully grown.
  • Happy Ghast:
    • Can be tamed using snowballs and a colored harness (crafted from any color wool + leather + glass).
    • Ride by equipping the harness, controlled with movement keys (W/S to move forward/back, look up/down to fly higher/lower, no separate key needed for descending).
    • Supports multiple players (up to 4), allowing building or fighting from its back.
    • Features goggles, changing expressions (semi-normal, normal, serious, happy), and does not shoot fireballs or have fire/lava immunity like regular Ghasts.
    • Ghastlings and Happy Ghasts cannot be killed by players (immune to player damage) and wander around a home within a certain radius.
  • Adds achievements like "Is it Kalamari or Calamari?" when obtaining a Dried Ghast.
