Immersive Gateways Mod (1.20.1) – Ancient Fast Travel Portals

Immersive Gateways Mod (1.20.1) adds ancient portals scattered throughout the Overworld. These mysterious gateways allow long-distance travel while still encouraging exploration and traditional transportation. Unlike normal portals, gateways cannot be crafted, moved, or recreated by players. They must be discovered naturally while exploring the world.

• Adds 25 unique gateway structures generated naturally in the Overworld
• Each gateway is linked to another gateway somewhere else in the world
• Allows fast travel across long distances
• Designed to preserve exploration and not replace normal transportation
• Animated portals with immersive visual effects
• No menus, no GUIs, and no complex progression systems

World Generation

• Gateways appear as ancient structures hidden across the Overworld
• Each gateway is biome-specific and blends naturally into its surroundings
• Examples include portals found in:
  • Desert
  • Snow biomes
  • Jungle
  • Plains
  • Badlands
  • Mushroom fields
  • Cherry blossom forests

How Gateways Work

• Each gateway connects to another gateway located somewhere else in the world
• Players can step through the portal to travel between distant locations
• This creates a natural fast-travel network discovered during exploration
