Leather Recycling Mod (1.21.5, 1.20.1) expands this feature to leather gear as well. With this mod installed, you can recycle leather armor pieces, saddles and bundles into leather pieces. Item frames and books can be recycled into rabbit hides. Furthermore, you can smelt rotten flesh into leather.
