Miner’s Delight Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.6) is a large Minecraft mod made to make mining in the game not only easier, but more efficient, fun, and semi-automatable using the datapacks star of the show, the mining turtle! This mod and singleplayer and multiplayer compatible, works on servers (aternos confirmed, unsure of other server providers).

Features:

  • 2 New Drills, which you can hold right-click on to mine a 4×4 in front of you
  • A creeper alarm that notifies you when a creeper is within the “Danger” Range
  • Rope Ladders that extend down and place ladders, only stopping when they hit a block
  • Throwable Glowsticks that stick dim torches to the wall
  • A Mining Turtle that mines blocks in front of it and moves forward, which can be upgraded to a point it can create entire strip mines and mineshafts by itself. Complete with a manual
  • Modules that improve said mining turtle
  • A Toolbelt that increases block interaction range
  • The New Snail mob which can be bred to farm slimeballs
  • 2 New Music Discs which can be listened to below

Creeper Alarm

The Creeper Alarm is a compact radar device that alerts the player when a creeper is nearby. It is crafted using 6 copper, 1 redstone dust, 1 gunpowder, and 1 amethyst crystal.

  • Usage: Keeping the alarm in your inventory activates it automatically. It beeps once per second if a creeper is within 13–7 blocks, and four times per second if within 6.9 blocks or less. This can help detect nearby caves or prevent surprise attacks.

Reinforced Drill (Coal Drill)

The Reinforced Drill is the first-tier drill, crafted with 1 iron block, 2 smooth stone slabs, 1 iron ingot, and 1 stick.

  • Usage: Hold Right-Click to mine a 4×4 area in front of you. Consumes coal as fuel. Useful for fast tunneling or ore mining.
  • Combat: Deals 0.5 heart damage per hit, has no cooldown, and causes heavy knockback. Continuous hits can quickly deplete enemy health.
  • Unlocks recipes for the Electric Drill and Creeper Alarm.

Electric Drill

The Electric Drill is the second-tier drill, crafted with 1 copper block, 2 copper ingots, 1 diamond, 2 redstone, and 1 blaze rod.

  • Usage: Mines a 4×4 area like the Reinforced Drill but recharges automatically when idle instead of consuming coal.
  • Combat: Deals 1 heart of damage per hit, with no cooldown.
  • Unlocks recipes for the Mining Turtle and Turtle Remote.

Glowsticks

Glowsticks are throwable light sources, crafted using 1 glow ink sac to produce 6 glowsticks.

  • Usage: Right-Click to throw. When hitting a wall or floor, a soul torch is placed. If hitting a ceiling or block corner, it bounces back for reuse. Can stack up to 99 units.

Mining Turtle

The Mining Turtle is a semi-automatic mining machine designed for mid-to-late game automation. It is crafted with 2 iron blocks, 2 iron ingots, 1 diamond block, 1 redstone block, and 1 redstone dust.

  • Usage: Requires a Turtle Remote (crafted with 1 amethyst shard, 1 redstone dust, and 5 copper ingots) to control movement.
  • The turtle mines automatically and deposits items at its Deposit Point (the location where it was placed). Place it on a hopper to collect items.
  • Can be upgraded using Turtle Modules. Keep torches in its inventory to light tunnels automatically.
  • Consumes coal as fuel; moves at speed 0.04 (base) or 0.08 (with Speed Module).
  • Must remain loaded (within render distance) to function. It is fireproof but not waterproof. Mobs can attack and destroy it.
  • If malfunctioning (engine smokes), pick it up and place it back at its Deposit Point to reset.
  • Stops automatically when hitting unbreakable blocks such as bedrock or portals.

Deposit Point

The Deposit Point is automatically created where the turtle is placed. It emits small particles every few seconds and keeps its chunk loaded. It remains until the associated turtle is destroyed.

Turtle Modules

Modules are crafted using 2 diamonds, 1 redstone dust, and specific materials depending on the type. There are four upgrade modules:

  • Speed: Increases speed from 0.04 → 0.08
  • Shields: Increases defense from 1 → 3 while active
  • Drill Power: Expands mining area from 2 → 9 blocks
  • Fuel Capacity: Extends fuel duration from 5 → 10 seconds

Ore Deposits

Ore Deposits are overworld rock formations containing coal, copper, or iron ores. They generate naturally in:

  • Badlands
  • Forests
  • Mountains and Hills
  • Savannas
  • Taigas
  • Plains biomes

Rope Ladder

A Rope Ladder is a stackable utility item crafted using 5 strings to create 2 ladders.

  • Usage: When placed on a block, it extends downward automatically until hitting a solid surface, providing a safe descent into caves or ravines.
