More Dyed Wool And Carpet Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) is here with a solution. With this mod installed, the crafting recipes to dye wool and carpet has been changed in such a way that you will be able to dye upto eight wool blocks or carpets using a single dye. This will reduce the amount of dye that you need significantly.
