Thief Mod (26.1.2, 1.20.1) – Crime And Reputation Overhaul For Villages

Thief Mod revamps village interactions with a crime and reputation system based on villager observation. Actions in villages are classified as light, medium, or heavy crimes, reducing the player’s reputation with witnessing villagers. Serious crimes may provoke attacks from iron golems or guard villagers.

Features:

• Crimes are split into light, medium, and heavy categories, affecting how much reputation is lost. Examples include breaking crops (light), opening chests (medium), or removing bells (heavy).
• Crimes are only registered if seen by villagers, iron golems, or guards, with detection affected by sneaking, lighting, and invisibility.
• Adds levels from hated to honored, determining villager trade behavior, price adjustments, and golem hostility.
• Medium and heavy crimes witnessed by golems or guards result in immediate attacks; villagers may refuse trades or raise prices.
• Improve relations by trading, curing zombie villagers, defeating raids, or gifting emeralds directly to villagers.
• Holding an emerald while looking at a villager shows the current reputation tier
