Villager Pickup Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) is a Minecraft mod that makes transporting and managing villagers incredibly easy by allowing players to pick them up and move them around like items.

Features:

  • Shift + right-click a villager to convert them into a spawn egg-like item.
  • The villager keeps all its data—profession, trade progress, name, and more—so nothing is lost during transport.
  • You can place the villager back down wherever you want, even across biomes or dimensions.
  • Fully functional on the server side; vanilla clients can still interact with it if installed on the server.

How It Works:

  • Some versions use a glass sphere to encapsulate villagers.
  • Picking up villagers may cost experience points based on their job level (configurable).
  • Optional block where you can place picked-up villagers and their workstations for easy trading.

Limitations & Config Options:

  • Baby villagers can’t be picked up by default (can be changed in config).
  • Sleeping or dead villagers, or those more than 4 blocks away, can’t be picked up.
  • Wandering traders and custom entities may not be compatible.
