Add-Ons for Vanilla RTX is a collection of optional resource packs designed to enhance the visual experience of Minecraft Bedrock when played with ray tracing enabled. These packs are specifically tailored to work alongside the main Vanilla RTX pack, requiring Minecraft’s Vibrant Visuals mode to display their full material effects. They introduce a variety of changes to specific blocks, altering their appearance and behavior under the game’s advanced lighting system. Players can choose to activate any combination of these additions, allowing for a personalized visual style that integrates seamlessly with the core ray-traced environment.

The pack introduces enhancements across several block types, focusing on how light interacts with their surfaces. For instance, players will notice significant changes to glass, which becomes clearer, removing borders and streaks while displaying more intense colors as light passes through. Water textures are also improved, offering increased transparency and sharper reflections on its surface. Beyond these fundamental elements, the pack also affects various decorative and functional blocks. Concrete blocks, for example, can be transformed into vibrant glowing sources, with black and white concrete receiving unique treatments as vantablack and exceptionally bright materials, respectively. Similarly, terracotta blocks, both hardened and glazed, are given stronger emissive properties, making their colors and patterns stand out with a subtle glow.

Another notable feature of this collection is the introduction of luminous properties to a wide range of ores, including coal, copper, diamond, emerald, gilded blackstone, and gold ores, across both regular and deepslate variants, as well as nether ores. This means these valuable blocks will emit light, making them more visually distinct in dark environments. For those seeking even more dramatic visual changes, certain blocks can be replaced with perfect mirrors. This option provides several choices for which blocks become reflective surfaces, with a special mode that turns all sixteen colors of concrete into mirrors of varying hues. These additions collectively offer a comprehensive set of visual upgrades, allowing players to fine-tune their ray-traced Minecraft world to their preferences.
