Anvil Tweaks Mod 1.16.5, 1.15.2 tweaks the vanilla anvil in a few ways as well as some other optional improvements.

Anvil’s contents now stay in the anvil when the GUI is closed
Anvils will now display the items that they are holding
Anvils will drop their contents if broken or if they start falling.
Anvils can now have configurable prior work penalty (default: true) and max level cap (default: 40), but unlike prior implementations, it’s 100% compatible with both vanilla and modded anvil mechanics.
Anvils can be configured to never break (false by default) or to have a different breaking chance ( .12 by default)
Enabling cheap renaming cuts the cost of all rename only operations down to 1 level (default false)
