Better Backpacks (26+, 1.21) – MCPE/Bedrock Addon
The Better Backpacks addon introduces a range of wearable storage solutions to the game, allowing players to carry more items on their adventures. This pack functions by leveraging the game’s scripting APIs, so players must ensure that Experimental Features are enabled in their world settings for the addon to work correctly. Once activated, players can craft various backpacks, equip them as armor, and utilize them as mobile chests, all while maintaining compatibility with achievements.
Players can craft three distinct types of backpacks: a standard backpack, a larger big backpack, and an axolotl-themed backpack. Each of these comes in five different colors, offering a total of fifteen unique storage items. The standard and axolotl backpacks provide twenty-seven inventory slots, while the big backpack doubles that capacity to fifty-four slots. When worn, a backpack occupies the chest armor slot and provides a small defense bonus of two armor points. These items retain their enchantments, custom names, and descriptions, and their contents remain secure even after world reloads, functioning much like traditional chests or ender chests. They are fully functional in both single-player survival and multiplayer environments.
