Create Transcontinental Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) – Ride Ready-Made Rails
Create Transcontinental Mod adds a continent-wide railway network for Create while the world generates. It connects far-away regions with tracks that follow the land. Players on SMP servers get a basic rail network to improve, even when their bases are far apart. The mod keeps its cost to world generation as low as it can.

Features:
- Low Lag: Adds only a tiny cost to each chunk, so world generation stays fast, even on multiplayer servers.
- Same Tracks Every Time: Generation looks random like vanilla, but it is not. If you regenerate chunks, the tracks come back in the exact same place.
- Smart Paths: Tracks snake through the land to avoid steep slopes, water, and other obstacles instead of building over everything.
- Makes chunk order not matter at all, so the tracks line up no matter which chunks you explore first.
- Builds a basic railway network that links regions across continents. It is a solid base for players to improve into their own network.
- Places small train stations and track junctions along the line.
- Sends tracks through tunnels when the land gets in the way, including tunnels that cross caves.
- Works with vanilla terrain generation, Terralith, and Tectonic, alone or together.
- Lets you change the look of the track structures with datapacks.
Performance Numbers:
| Test | Mod cost per chunk (average) | Added to world generation |
|---|---|---|
| Vanilla setup with Create and Xaero, nodes 512 blocks apart | 0.20 ms | +0.6% |
| Large modpack with about 300 mods, nodes 1024 blocks apart | 0.64 ms | +1.2% |
Configuration:
config/createtranscontinental-server.toml: the file where all settings live.bondLength: the distance between two nodes of the network. The default is 512. A lower number makes the network denser. A range of 512 to 2048 works well for most worlds.- Higher
bondLengthvalues cost more time for each chunk, because chunks must reach farther nodes to build their tracks. - Only change settings on a new world. Chunks made before and after a change will not have matching tracks, and they will not connect.
