Cursed Stare Mod (1.20.1) – Eye Contact Curse Horror

Cursed Stare Mod (1.20.1) is a psychological horror mod for Minecraft that adds a night-spawning creature that affects the player through eye contact. The main danger comes from being forced to look at the entity and becoming cursed if exposed for too long.

Features:

• Adds a new horror creature called Cursed Stare
• Focus on psychological pressure and eye-contact mechanics
• Designed to interrupt normal exploration and trading routines

Spawn Rules

• Spawns only during night time
• Typically appears every 10–20 minutes (default settings)

Main Mechanics

• You should avoid looking at the creature
• If it gets direct line of sight with you:
  • Your view is forced toward it
  • You cannot easily look away
  • Long exposure can apply a curse effect
• After several seconds of eye contact, it can pull you to its position

Villager Interaction

• The creature can curse villagers
• Cursed villagers may behave differently than normal ones
• Check villagers carefully when trading

Configuration (Gamerules)

• Uses /gamerule settings for configuration
• Available options:
  • cSCurseVillager – enable or disable villager cursing
  • configSpawnRate – control spawn rate
    • 0 = never spawn
    • 1 = normal rate
    • Higher numbers = more frequent spawns

Usage Notes

• Not recommended with many other active hostile mobs
• The forced-look effect can make other threats harder to avoid
• Works best as a primary horror encounter mod
