The farm calls: Experience the art of advanced agriculture and farmhouse cuisine! Use mincers, cooking pots, as well as new grains and fruit varieties to enhance your culinary and farming expertise. Farm & Charm Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) was created with the intention of tidying up many of the [Let’s Do] mods: for example, reducing duplicates of ovens and pans or giving them slightly altered functions. This also includes some changes regarding where these items can be found: for example, the tool rack, which was previously part of Candlelight, can now be found in this mod.

Features:

Blocks

  • Stove: Primary crafting station for pastries and bread. Acts as a heat source for the Cooking Pot and Roaster. Has input, fuel and output slots and shows built-in recipes.
  • Cooking Pot: Used to prepare basic meals. Requires a hot surface (Stove, Campfire, Magma Block) and provides multiple ingredient slots and an output slot. Visual effects (bubbles/sound) indicate activity.
  • Roaster: Similar to the Cooking Pot but for larger meals; requires a hot surface and takes longer to finish recipes.
  • Mincer: Processing block operated by a crank. Place items and crank to process; outputs appear from the bottom opening. Processing time varies by material.
  • Crafting Bowl: No GUI — combine and stir ingredients directly to make dough, cereals, salads, etc. Requires correct ingredient placement and stirring action.
  • Silo: Expandable storage for drying and storing crops. Size affects capacity and drying speed. Right-click items to place them; open/close hatch controls drying/auto-emptying.
  • Fertilized Soil: Can be converted to fertilized farmland or used with a pitchfork to apply bone-meal-like effects in an area. Limited uses per block.
  • Fertilized Farmland: Enhanced farmland that cannot be trampled and may occasionally apply growth boosts to planted crops.
  • Feeding Trough: Holds seeds (up to four). Nearby animals will eat and become ready to breed; seed type is not restrictive.
  • Water Sprinkler: Irrigates surrounding farmland up to its reach. Automatically stops during rain/storms and requires no refill.
  • Food Blocks: Many meals are placeable as decorative/functional blocks; placed food can be eaten multiple times and grants higher hunger/saturation.
  • Window Sill: Decorative block that can hold up to two small flowers (uses small_flowers tag).
  • Toolrack: Wall-mounted storage for tools and pans.
  • Scarecrow: Cosmetic reward for crafting many food items; grants a modest crop growth bonus in a radius.

Items

  • Food items: Over 30 meals (soups, pancakes, breads, meats, etc.). Each meal has specific hunger/saturation values and may grant status effects. Many foods are placeable.
  • Tea & Tea Jug: Brew tea in a Cooking Pot; use a jug and bottles to serve multiple cups.
  • Rotten Tomato: Throwable, non-edible item that inflicts a short Poison effect on hit.
  • Pitchfork: Tool that functions like a hoe with additional interactions on Fertilized Soil.
  • Pet foods (Dog Food, Cat Food, Horse Fodder, Chicken Feed): Foods that tame or buff specific animals and apply associated effects when fed.
  • Fertilizer & Compost: Enhanced growth accelerants that act like area bone meal; compost has a finite number of uses.

Effects

  • Satiation: Slows hunger and reduces exhaustion. Useful to maintain food levels longer.
  • Sweets: Temporary buffs (movement speed, attack speed, attack damage). Stackable up to a limited amount.
  • Rested: Increases experience gain.
  • Sustenance: Restores hunger periodically; when hunger is full it heals health periodically instead.
  • Feast: Combined benefits of Sustenance and Satiation.
  • Farmer’s Blessing: Removes negative status effects for the duration.
  • Grandma’s Blessing: Like Farmer’s Blessing plus a Luck bonus.
  • Cluck: Increases egg/feather production rate when applied to chickens; also available as an edible effect for players.
  • Horse Fodder: Improves horse jump strength and speed.
  • Dog Food / Cat Food (effects): Increase pet combat stats or restore health (cat-specific).

Miscellaneous

  • World generation: New wild crops spawn in newly generated chunks (examples: Wild Barley, Wild Oat, Wild Corn, Wild Tomato, Wild Strawberry, Wild Onion, etc.). These supply seeds and raw ingredients for the mod’s farming systems.
  • Carts:
    • Supply Cart: Transports players and items, can collect harvested drops when driven over mature crops.
    • Plow / Plow Cart: Converts grass blocks into farmland when dragged over fields to speed large-scale tilling.
  • Breeding & feeding: Mod crops are used to feed, tame and breed animals (horses, chickens, rabbits, pigs, foxes, parrots). Example feed mapping: Barley/Oat → horses & chickens; Corn → horses, chickens & rabbits; Strawberry → chickens & rabbits, etc.
  • Controls & interactions: Carts and some tools use configurable hotkeys (example: couple/pick up, open chest). Many blocks interact via right-click placement or direct item insertion.

Notes & tips

  • Most cooking blocks require heat sources; check block descriptions to confirm valid heat providers.
  • Placeable foods serve both decorative and gameplay functions (food sharing, multi-use eating, buffs).
  • Fertilized Soil and fertilizer items provide area growth boosts — plan crop layout to maximize efficiency.
  • Use silos to dry/store large harvests; increase silo size for better capacity and faster drying.
