Intense Horror Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) is a Minecraft mod that adds a special night event called Night of Fright. During this event, stronger and scarier monsters appear on the surface at night, along with new loot, decorations, and special items. It is inspired by Terraria’s special night events and focuses on challenge and atmosphere.

Features:

  • A special night event that can randomly replace a normal night
  • A warning message appears before it starts
  • Many horror-themed monsters spawn during the event
  • Event ends automatically when day begins
  • Event chance is affected by moon phases

Moon Phase Influence (Higher phase = higher chance)

  • Full Moon: very low chance
  • Middle phases: medium chance
  • New Moon: highest chance

Important Gameplay Rules

  • Most mod mobs only spawn during Night of Fright
  • Some mobs require specific height (Y-level) or dimension
  • If conditions are not met, mobs cannot be summoned

How to Turn Features On / Off

  • Disable event music:
    • /gamerule allowNightOfFrightMusic false
  • Disable the event:
    • /gamerule allowNightOfFright false

Manual Event Control

  • Start event during the day:
    • Use a Lunar Tablet on a Lunatic Altar
  • Stop event during the night:
    • Use a Solar Tablet on a Lunatic Altar

New Mobs

  • Slasher-type killers – strong melee attackers
  • Mothman – fast flying creature
  • Mourning Wood – giant walking tree boss
  • Reaper – ranged attacker with special projectiles
  • Treater – small creature that trades rewards for candy
  • Collector (Villager) – sells event items and decorations

New Items & Rewards

  • Weapons dropped from event monsters
  • Candy Bags:
    • Right-click to receive XP and candy
  • Lunar & Solar Tablets for event control
  • Horror-themed decorative blocks

Collector Villager

  • Special trader added by the mod
  • Uses a chest as a job block
  • Sells event-only items and decorations
  • Trades use emeralds

Performance Notes

  • Game may crash if ranged weapons are fired too quickly
  • Avoid hitting mobs with too many projectiles at once
