Legacy Skins Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) is a tool for players to customize, offering full compatibility with Legacy4J and Customizable Player Models. It’s resource-driven, which means adding a new skin to your game is as easy as updating a resource pack.

Making a skin pack

A skin pack is a collection of skins in the CPMMODEL file format.

Creating CPMMODEL files

  • CPMMODEL files are created in Customizable Player Models‘ editor screen.
  • Skins must be exported as Models.
  • Export them without a UUID lock (they do not need to be marked as “Skin Compatible”).

Packaging your skins

  • After exporting, add the CPMMODEL files to a resource pack.
  • Create a file named skin_packs.json at: assets/namespace/skin_packs.json
