Project New Wind Mod (26.1.2, 1.21.1) – Survive Smarter Hostile Mobs
Project New Wind Mod reworks survival combat with smarter mob behavior, unique survival mechanics, and expanded brewing options. Undead enemies enter stasis before dying unless finished with fire, holy weapons, or sunlight. Hostile mobs also swap weapons depending on your distance, bringing a fresh layer of strategy to everyday fights. With new silver materials, salt lines to block monsters, and custom cauldron recipes, this mod gives you new tools to survive hostile encounters.

Features:
Mob AI and Spawning:
- Hostile monsters swap between melee and ranged weapons depending on how close you stand.
- Surface monsters only spawn during the New Moon phase, making regular nights safer above ground.
- Monsters deep underground spawn with better armor, weapons, and enchantments below Y=0.
- Skeletons actively hunt villagers and switch to stone swords when fighting up close.
- Creepers draw lightning strikes toward themselves like natural lightning rods.
- Slimes and Magma Cubes can shrink to fit through narrow gaps and regenerate health over time.
- Small Magma Cubes merge back together into a full-sized cube if left alive.
- Pillagers drink invisibility potions when injured, while Vindicators consume buff potions before charging into battle.
- Evokers use substitution spells to swap positions with nearby allies when cornered.
Combat Changes:
- Undead mobs enter a five-second stasis instead of dying immediately, recovering half their health unless finished off.
- Defeating undead permanently requires sunlight, fire, lava, the Smite enchantment, or instant health effects.
- You can finish off knocked-down undead mobs during stasis by using flint and steel on them.
- Piglin Brutes resist heavy burst damage by capping maximum damage taken per hit.
- Iron Golems gain extra attack reach, bonus damage against undead, and immunity to fire and poison, but require a Silver Block to craft.
New Items and World Content:
- Adds silver ore that you can smelt into ingots for weapons, armor, and golem building.
- Allows you to collect brine and salt to place barrier lines that stop zombies from crossing.
- Expands cauldron usage for custom potion brewing and alchemy recipes.
- Introduces infection incubators and spreading vines that alter terrain until destroyed.
