The Endergetic Expansion Mod (1.20.1, 1.16.5) – The End Forest

The Endergetic Expansion Mod gives the End something to look at besides flat white islands and chorus plants. Its centrepiece is the Poise Forest, a biome of tall alien trees with its own blocks, plants and creatures, found now and then out among the outer islands. The mod also redraws the End Gateway and the End Well, the two teleport structures vanilla left plain, so arriving in the End looks like arriving somewhere rather than nowhere.

Features:

• The Poise Forest is a full biome with its own trees, ground cover, blocks and mobs.
• It generates semi rarely across the outer End islands, in the same region where chorus plants grow.
• Poise trees grow tall and thin with their own wood set, giving the End a buildable material of its own.
• Bolloom balloons can be tied to blocks and mobs to float them, which is a mechanic rather than decoration.
• The End Gateway is redrawn, so the small teleport portal reads clearly instead of as a plain dark cube.
• The End Well gets the same treatment and now looks like a built structure.
• New plants and creatures fill the forest floor with things that behave differently from overworld life.
• Forge and NeoForge builds run on Minecraft 1.14.4 through 1.20.1.

How to Use:

1. Install Forge or NeoForge for your version, then drop the jar into .minecraft/mods.
2. Use a world that has not generated the End yet, or the outer islands will still hold the old terrain.
3. Beat the Ender Dragon and walk into the exit portal to reach the outer islands.
4. Travel outward and keep watching the horizon. The Poise Forest stands well above the island surface.
5. Cut poise wood for building, and gather the forest plants for the mod’s own recipes.
6. Attach a bolloom balloon to a block or a mob to lift it, which is handy for moving things across gaps.
