The Rake Horror Mod (1.20.1) adds The Rake, a dangerous night creature inspired by popular Roblox horror games. It focuses on fair but intense survival combat and nighttime hunting mechanics.

Features:

Basic Behavior

Spawns only at night
Lives in a special cave structure (its base)
Leaves the cave at evening and returns at sunrise
Normally stays within about 160 blocks of its cave
During day, retreats to the cave and stops active hunting

Detection & Chase

If it sees a player, it begins a sneak approach:
- Moves slightly slower than sprinting players
- Deals very high damage on surprise hits
If the player looks directly at it:
- Chase mode starts
- Music and sound cues play
- Returns to normal damage and speed
- Can be outrun by a sprinting player

Combat Mechanics

Blocking System
- The Rake can block incoming attacks
- Blocked hits deal no damage
- Player is briefly stunned when blocked
- Small chance for a longer “heavy block” stun
Stun System
- High-damage hits can stun The Rake
- Stun prevents movement and attacks
- Maximum stun duration is about 1 second
- Higher damage = longer stun
Stun Roar
- Triggers if stunned too often
- Applies player stun and knockback
- Grants temporary stun immunity to The Rake
Enraged State
- Builds up when damaged repeatedly
- After a delay, gains buffs:
  - Stun immunity
  - Speed boost
  - Damage boost
  - Regeneration
- Lasts about 20 seconds

Cave: Main spawn base for The Rake
Shop Shack: Rare structure with a trader NPC selling mod items
Tower: Rare themed structure
Church: Rare themed structure

Special Modes (Random Events)

During modes:
- The Rake always knows player location
- Immune to stun
Blood Hour
- Chance to trigger at low health
- Higher stats and aggression
- Frequent loud sound cues reveal distance
- Red visual effects
Vision Hour
- Random spawn chance
- Lower health but frequent teleporting
- Applies poison and nausea effects on hit
- Green visual effects
Blackout
- Random spawn chance
- Very low visibility environment
- Hard to see except glowing eyes
- Dangerous for unarmored players

Commands

/rake trigger – trigger next mode
/cave debug – check spawn conditions
/cave teleport – teleport to nearest cave
/misc reset_variables – reset mod variables

Config file allows control of:
- Block breaking
- Teleporting
- Climbing ability
- Mode chances
- Sleeping rules
- Health bar display
- Spawn timing checks
