There are many mods that will allow you to play chess in Minecraft. But amongst these mods, Ultimate Chess Mod (1.20.1, 1.20) remains unique for plenty of reasons. Using the recipes provided below, you can craft board pieces and chess pieces. To begin, place the board pieces on the ground in a 8×8 layout resembling a chess board. You can right click on alternate blocks with dyes to color them. You can then place the chess pieces. The chess pieces all appear to be pawns when you initially place them down. To change them, right click on them with a stick. The pieces too can be colored using dyes. Cycling through the different chess pieces using the stick will also allow you to convert them into checker pieces, allowing you to play checker as well.
