VXPT Shaders (1.20.5, 1.20.1) simply blends samples across frames, allowing the noise to gradually smooth out over time, if you let the camera sit still. Good for screenshots, as it results in clean images, obviously. But bad for gameplay, where the player is constantly moving. VXPT can run at high framerates (assuming you don’t crank the settings too high, but even then you can do 10 bounces at 30 FPS with the right settings), but you’ll be looking at a few minutes for a smooth image.
