According to the mod’s developer, an intelligent system analyzes the player’s direction and speed, adjusting the loading distance and number of chunks accordingly. This optimization improves performance for both the client and server (if installed on a server).

Features:

  • Predicts player movement and pre-loads chunks in an area ahead of them asynchronously.
  • Increases chunk loading speed in general.
  • Changes the vanilla chunkloading around the player to be more lazy/less reactive, which reduces the overall amount of chunks being loaded and unloaded.

How It Works in Practice:

  • When flying in vanilla Minecraft, the mod significantly reduces the number of loaded chunks, limiting the render distance to around 5–7 chunks. This can appear somewhat restrictive compared to vanilla settings, where all 12 chunks load up to the fog boundary.
  • Occasionally, players may notice unrendered chunks at the fog’s edge.

Impact on System Load:

  • The mod does reduce CPU usage, but not drastically.
  • Users with low-end PCs are encouraged to test its performance themselves.
