The Enhanced AI Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.4) makes the monsters more deadly by modifying their artificial intelligence as well as the mechanics of how they move about the world. On each tick, rather of taking a random chance to attack the player, monsters will directly target them as their target. They gain a high level of intelligence and self-confidence, and they are able to detect you from a distance by smelling, then marking you for later hunts. In addition, they are able to mark you for future hunts. Negative effects, such as being unable to climb stairs, being stuck in a boat, and having a lack of intelligence, have been removed. They are able to automatically avoid explosives while approaching the player, and they swim much faster and with significantly more strength than the player does. Be aware of everything alive in Minecraft, not only the monsters; if you attack animals, they will fight back by attacking you. Monsters aren’t the only ones who can attack you. This is true for animals as well as monstrous beings.
