Growing crops in Minecraft depends on various different factors. Soil moistness is one of them. When you right click on a dirt or grass block with a hoe, it will become tilled. You can place seeds on a tilled soil block to plant the crop. But in order for the crop to grow, the tilled soil block needs to be moistened. This is achieved by placing water adjacent to the soil. In the vanilla game, you can till a 7×7 area of soil and place a water source block in its center to moisten all of the blocks in the 7×7 area. But what if you wanted more control over the area of moistening? Moisturization Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.3) is here with a solution. The Moisturization mod gives you access to several configs that can be altered in-game. All of these configs are related to the moistening of soil and you can tweak these to change the range of moisturization, increasing or decreasing the efficiency of crop farms. You will also have access to how bonemeal affects crop growth. You can change the value of this config to even disable bonemeal growth completely.
