SkillMMO Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.4) introduces a tiered skill progression system, transforming gameplay into an MMO-like experience. The mod requires players to gather experience to unlock skills, enabling interactions with blocks, items, and entities in the game. SkillMMO encourages team collaboration by allowing players to choose different skills to form diverse teams.

Features:

  • Players earn skill points by collecting experience, which can be used to upgrade skills such as Farming, Husbandry, Building, Combat, Engineering, Mining, Witchcraft, Storage, Survival, and Trading. Each skill level unlocks new blocks, items, or entities.
  •  The mod prevents players from interacting with blocks, items, or entities they haven’t unlocked, including placing blocks, breaking blocks (no drops if ununlocked), using items, or interacting with entities. For example, players cannot open chests without unlocking the Storage skill.
  • The skillmmo.json5 configuration file (requires Cloth Config) allows customization of experience formulas and other parameters. Users can preview experience formulas via a provided Desmos link.
  • Supports WTHIT to display skill requirements when interacting with blocks or entities. Modpacks and developers can extend functionality using datapacks to add or remove skills, blocks, and items.
  • The SkillMMO information screen (default key: K) displays detailed information about skill levels and unlocked items/blocks, enhancing player visibility and interaction.
