This Minecraft tutorial explains all about zombified piglins (formerly called zombie pigman) with screenshots and step-by-step instructions. Let’s learn about zombified piglins in Minecraft.

Background

When the zombie pigman was renamed to zombified piglin in the Nether Update, the look of this mob changed slightly. The following is a picture of the new look for the zombified piglin (as well as its old look) in Minecraft:

Hostility Level (Neutral)

A zombified piglin is a neutral mob. The term mob is short for mobile and is used to refer to all living, moving creatures in the game such as chickens, creepers, and zombified piglins. Because a zombified piglin is a neutral mob, it will only attack you in Survival mode if you attack the zombified piglin first. It will never attack you in Creative mode.

Health Points

In Minecraft, a zombified piglin has 11 hearts  for health. This gives a zombified piglin 22 health points (because 1 heart = 2 health points). To kill a zombified piglin, you need to inflict 22 points of damage to the zombified piglin.

Where to Find Zombified Piglin

In Minecraft, you can find zombified piglins in the Nether (commonly found in the Bastion Remnant).

Nether

Bastion Remnant

If you haven’t been to the Nether, you need to build a nether portal to take you to the Nether. When you walk through a nether portal, it will transport you between the Overworld and the Nether.

This is what a nether portal looks like:

If you are having trouble finding a zombified piglin, you can summon a zombified piglin using a cheat or you can use a spawn egg.

Weapon

A zombified piglin carries a golden sword as a weapon.

Attack Method

In Minecraft, a zombified piglin will move towards you and try to strike you with its golden sword when it attacks.

Drops

When you kill a zombified piglin in Minecraft, it will usually drop rotten flesh. If you are very lucky, it might drop a gold nugget or the golden sword that is was holding.

Make sure you pick up the dropped items before they disappear. These are useful items and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.

Experience Points

As you play the game, you will gain experience. The most common way to gain experience is by killing mobs. When a mob is killed you will see tiny green and yellow balls appear and move towards you.

These orbs represent experience points. When you kill a zombified piglin, you will gain 6 experience points.
