Hostility Level (Hostile)
A slime is a hostile mob. The term mob is short for mobile and is used to refer to all living, moving creatures in the game such as chickens, creepers, and slimes. Because a slime is a hostile mob, it will attack you in Survival mode but not Creative mode.
Different Sizes of Slimes
There are three sizes of slimes in Minecraft – large, medium, and small. The larger the slime, the more damage it will do to you.
When you kill a large slime, it will drop medium slimes. When you kill a medium slime, it will drop small slimes. When you kill a small slime, it will drop slimeballs.
You never know what size of slime you will run into in Minecraft. It could be any size from a large slime to a small one.
Health Points
In Minecraft, a slime has different health depending on its size.
A large slime has 8 hearts
for health. This gives a large slime 16 health points (because 1 heart = 2 health points). To kill a large slime, you need to inflict 16 points of damage to it.
A medium slime has 2 hearts
for health. This gives a medium slime 4 health points (because 1 heart = 2 health points). To kill a medium slime, you need to inflict 4 points of damage to it.
A small slime has 0.5 hearts
for health. This gives a small slime 1 health point (because 1 heart = 2 health points). To kill a small slime, you need to inflict 1 point of damage to it.
Where to Find Slimes
In Minecraft, you can find slimes in the Swamp biome in light levels of 8 or less.

Slimes will spawn in the dark, usually at night. Once a slime has spawned in the dark, it can survive in the daylight.
If you are having trouble finding a slime, you can summon a slime using a cheat or you can use a spawn egg.
Weapon
A slime does not carry a weapon.
Attack Method
In Minecraft, a slime will hop towards you and try to bump into you when it attacks. Because slimes come in different sizes, the larger the slime the more damage it will do to you.
Drops
When you kill a small slime in Minecraft, it will drop a slimeball.

Make sure you pick up any dropped items before they disappear. They are useful and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.
Experience Points
As you play the game, you will gain experience. The most common way to gain experience is by killing mobs. When a mob is killed you will see tiny green and yellow balls appear and move towards you.

These orbs represent experience points. When you kill a slime, you will gain experience points but it depends on the size of the slime. A large slime will give you 4 experience points, a medium slime will give you 2 experience points and a small slime will give you 1 experience point.
